A gentle learning experience with amazing results

Brainbox rare projects are designed to ease you gently into learning electronics and yet still have to power to inspire you to create amazing results.

Laser your cat

The most common thing you’ll do when starting out learning how to control electronics is turn on a light and then move a servo motor. How unispiring is that? At brainbox we do things a bit different, we add a good portion of amazing. Lets replace that light with a real laser, and lets use the servo to make a controllable robot from your mobile phone via the Internet of Things. Why stop there, lets build our own console like joystick to allow us to easily program cool moves to get your slightly overweight cat running around after that laser dot. Now were talking. The Wi-Fi Robot Laser Cat Exerciser, how did you ever manage without one?

Green fingers

Our green fingers project allows you to control a parasitic pump normally used for highly accurate dosing of medicine or super serious scientific lab work. Why? because if you connect that baby up to the internet of things and add a moisture sensor you have your very own cutting edge scientific plant monitor and remote watering system for up to five plants. Is that even a thing? it is now! Track your plants health whilst your away and give them a precisly measured drink from anywhere in the world.

Lets get serious

The green fingers project not educational enough for you? Check out the plant lab, where we drag that old school experiment into the modern age with our own Brainbox twist. Plant a bean, and watch it grow. Monitor moisture levels, external temperature and air humidity and chart all this statistical progress on a mobile app alongside visual progress of your growing bean. The plant lab even comes with its own oled graphics display to stick on your plant so he or she can tell you how their feeling. As with most Brainbox projects you can mix and match, so you can also use it to supercharge the green fingers project or add sensors of your own.
